
Serie B Interregionale, Gulliver Derthona flies to Play-in Gold: fifth place in the standings at the end of the first phase
After the last useful result yesterday evening, Gulliver Supermercati Derthona, reaches the salvation objective and qualifies for the Play-in Gold of Serie B Interregionale.
The first phase of the championship has concluded Interregional Serie B, with the home victory against College Basketball (79-68), the Gulliver Supermarkets Derthona gets ready for the second stage, after closing the Division A of North-West Conference al 5 th in the standings with a record of 10 wins and 12 losses. An improvement compared to last year's final position, which guaranteed him months in advance his permanence in the fourth senior national tournament.
The young team of coach Luca Ansaloni, also for this year composed of the U19 Excellence of the Derthona youth teams with the addition of a "senior" athlete, will be included in the Play-in Gold, where it will meet the top six ranked teams of the Division B of the same Conference. The Tortona team will bring with it the points accumulated in direct clashes with the other five teams qualified for the Play-in Gold, of its own Division: Magic Oleggio, College Basketball, Pavia Basketball, 7 Laghi Gazzada and Junior Casale. The next twelve matchdays, scheduled with a first-leg/second-leg formula, will see the black and white team meet: Etrusca San Miniato, Basketball Club Lucca, Costone Siena, US Empolese, Dany Basket Quarrata and Basketball School Arezzo.
Starting in first place with 18 points will be Magic Oleggio Basket, followed by San Miniato and Lucca at 16, further back Costone Siena and College at 10. From sixth to eleventh position there is a discrepancy of only two points between the six teams that occupy these positions (Junior Casale, Arezzo, Pavia, Gazzada at 8 points – Derthona and Empolese at 6). Bottom of the class is Basket Quarrata at 4 points. The first eight teams classified at Play-in Gold will make up the picture playoff for promotion to the National Serie B.
