In the second weekly commitment, Gulliver Derthona conquers a very important victory, in the direct clash against Don Bosco Crocetta, thanks to a last period by the home team. The black and white team thus reaches 16 points, reaching Campus Varese and Gallarate, in the Division A Conference North-West standings, awaiting their games today.
Gulliver got off to a slow start at PalaCamagna in Tortona, with Crocetta taking advantage of a good shooting percentage in the first quarter to gain the lead with Paggetto the protagonist of the first Turin run (13-18 at 10'). In the second period, coach Ansaloni's team changed gear, raising the pace and developing a more effective offensive game, managing to find the lead and go into the locker rooms at 36-35.
Upon returning to the court, the two teams continually alternated in the lead of the match, with frequent breaks and counter-breaks. But Crocetta managed to prevail, finishing the third quarter with a two-point lead (46-48). In the final period, however, Tortona took definitive control of the match, thanks to a solid defense that only allowed 4 points to the guests. Coach Ansaloni's team also relied on the experience of Gatti, best scorer for Gulliver with 15 points, to consolidate the advantage. Tortona won with a result of 61-52 against Crocetta and signed the eighth success in the Serie B Interregionale championship.
Gulliver Supermercati Derthona will return to the field on Friday 17 January at the Pala Energica in Casale Monferrato, for the derby against Junior Casale at 21:00 pm.
