Interregional Serie B 2024/25, Derthona Basketball Lab in the group with Piedmontese, Lombardy and one Ligurian team
In recent days the Federal Council of the FIP has made official the composition of the groups of the championship Interregional Serie B. Derthona Basketball Lab, in his second year in the fourth national championship, was included in the Division A of North-West Conference for the season 2024/25.
The Juventus team will compete against the other six Piedmontese teams, accompanied by four from Lombardy and one from Liguria. Together with the DB Lab - which will also face the senior tournament in the new sports year with the youth team of the U19 Eccellenza Vice Champion of Italy - there are BC Serravalle Scrivia, College Basketball Borgomanero, Collegno Basket, Junior Libertas Casale Monferrato, Oleggio Magic Basket and the newly promoted PGS Don Bosco Crocetta Turin as regards the many regional derbies, the Sestri Basketball as the only Ligurian in the group and finally Basketball Gallarate, Basketball 7 Laghi Gazzada, Campus Varese e Pavia Basketball representing part of the Lombardy teams present in the fourth Italian series.
FORMULA The regular season includes 22 days with home and away matches, in the second phase of the tournament each Conference will be divided into two pools of 12 teams according to the final placing in the regular season: the Play-in Gold, with the teams ranked from 1st to 6th place in the two Divisions that make up each Conference, and the Play-in Out which will see the 7th to 12th positions of both Divisions clash.
In this second phase, in the Play-in Gold the teams will compete with the top six from Division B of the North-West Conference, taking with them the points from the direct clashes gained in the first phase. The same formula is valid for the Play-in Outs, at the end of which the top three in the group will automatically be safe.
Ai Playoff (all best of 3 matches) the first eight of the Gold Play-ins will enter to compete for a single promotion in the National Serie B. A total of 4 teams will therefore advance at national level (the 4 who won the playoffs).
The last classified of Play-in Out of each conference, however, they will immediately be relegated to the Unique C Series, while the teams classified from 4th to 11th position will perform the Playouts (all best of 3 races). There will be a total of 12 relegations at a national level (the last placed teams in the groups plus the last two of the four playout tables).
