Important step forward for the creation of the new Cittadella dello Sport
On Thursday 19 December, the meeting of the Regional Technical Committee took place in Turin which was to analyze the works for the new Citadel of Sport built by the Appia company and which will allow the construction of a new arena for Bertram Derthona Basket (which has been playing matches for years housewives of the A2 championship at the Palaoltrepo in Voghera) in an area located between Tortona and the Rivalta Scrivia hamlet. The need for a transition to the CTR had emerged during the last services conference at the request of the Piedmont Region: during the meeting, however, which was also attended by the technicians of the Municipality of Tortona and the councilor for public works Mario Galvani, the Committee expressed its opinion by declaring the issue not within its competence, which essentially amounts to a green light. Now, therefore, the process can continue and the Municipality of Tortona has the possibility to conclude the procedure and issue the building permit.
"Undoubtedly positive news – declared the Mayor Federico Chiodi – because it brings us closer to the realization of a project that we believe is of great importance for the future of our city. A structure entirely financed by private individuals which, in addition to being the new home of Derthona Basket, could become a point of reference for sport, entertainment and more. On the part of the municipal administration we reiterate our full support for this initiative".
