My Derthona Basket: Andreas Carosi talks about himself
Andreas Carosi, Sardinian, classy point guard 1996, starting this year on a new adventure: sail the skies how he crossed the parquets with our shirt.
It was an important year. The first of A2 Silver (2014/2015) and Andreas gave us a big hand, with the first team and with our under 19s - who achieved, achieving an extraordinary result, the national finals of category in Vasto - with seriousness, dedication and commitment, being appreciated both from the technical and human sides.
An experience – the one at Derthona Basketball – which Andreas remembers with pleasure:
"I have splendid memories of Tortona and Derthona Basket, from a sporting and human point of view: starting from my teammates, the technical staff, the club and also the first team, with whom I always trained during the year and to whom I was often added during the A2 Silver season. In fact, even though I was an under, there was always the utmost availability and attention towards me. This is not something so obvious";
“Tortona is a city to which I have remained attached. I have maintained contact with many people who revolve around Derthona, I am also a friend of Edoardo Tava, son of the president of Derthona Basket Roberto Tava."
Instead, delving deeper into the discussion relating to his other great one passion, which has now become work, Andreas continued:
“This passion was born as a child: I am Sardinian and my grandparents live in Rome, so since I was little I was very used to going by plane and I became passionate about this world. When I was eighteen I therefore chose to embark on the path to becoming an airline pilot. In March this year I finished flight school, shortly after I interviewed in Dublin and was hired by a well-known airline. This summer I'm expecting a two-month course - theoretical and practical - in Amsterdam, at the end of which I will be able to start driving scheduled flights".
Courses and preparazione very rigid also from a mental point of view, as he himself explains:
“The preparation obviously consists of a lot of practical work (using a simulator, driving without autopilot, etc.) but the activity you are subjected to from a mental point of view is even more enormous. Psychological questions, tests on how one is able to react in difficult moments due to possible climatic, technical and other problems. It seems more like a mental preparation than a technical one."
Andreas then closed his interview back to talking about Bertram Derthona:
“I remained a Derthona Basket fan. I always keep myself informed about the results and the summer transfer market as in this period. I came to watch the playoffs when you were still playing in Casale, with Marco Spissu - my countryman - who was often my rival in the youth teams. This year I would like to come and follow a match live, so if I were to find myself in Milan on a weekend when Derthona plays at home I could pop in and see many friends and my team again."
Ours therefore goes to Andreas good luck for the continuation of his life and career which, we have no doubt, will be worthy of his father Andrea, mother Giusy and his enormous kindness.
Congratulations and a brotherly hug from all the Derthona Basket Staff.
