A basketball lesson demonstrated in one of the squares with the finest palate in all of Italy.
Paolo Rotondo, Kenneth Viglianisi, Marco Venuto, Stefano Cernivani, Stefan Stanojevic, Flavio Gay, Leone Gioria, Michele Campeggi, Nicolò Gatti, Giuliano Samoggia, Raphael Strotz, Paolo Vitali, coach Antonello Arioli, Giovanni Lonardo, Paolo De Ros, Marco Picchi and Luigino Fassino are the names that officially enter the history of Tortona basketball. The protagonists of this splendid page that the city of Tortona will remember forever.
The classic "perfect match" by coach Arioli's boys, ahead from the first to the last minute without ever looking back and with truly impressive solidity. Never a moment of difficulty or physical decline, the Derthona seen at the Paladozza seemed to be a perfect machine.
An unforgettable day for all the Juventus fans who arrived in Bologna to pack the almost 5000 seats of the beautiful Bolognese stadium, but also an unforgettable evening for Paolo Rotondo who scored a great performance with 18 points and 15 rebounds and above all for Kenneth Viglianisi who scored 23 points with a monstrous 5/6 from three points released amidst the applause of the visiting fans and above all with a standing ovation from the enthusiastic audience.
In front of the always very hot and exciting Fossa dei Leoni, coach Arioli's boys practically don't miss a beat and from the first minutes they impose their game both in the offensive and defensive phases with practically perfect mechanisms. The Killer Instinct of the Bianconeri Lions comes out especially at the start of the second half with a break of 24-14 which drops Fortitudo to -14 (49-63).
In the last 10 minutes of the game it was practically pure academy for Derthona with the gap widening to -20 with coach Arioli who could also give a few minutes of glory to Stanojevic and Gay on their debut in a temple of Italian and European basketball.
It is the apotheosis for the Lions who with this historic victory fly in the standings to 24 points, extending their lead on Fortitudo which is stopped at 20 points and with a heavy 0-2 in head-to-head matches. An unforgettable evening for all the boys who took to the parquet, for the technical and management staff as well as for the numerous Juventus fans following who will one day be able to exclaim: "I was there!".
