Derthona hires Francesco Stefanelli
Orsi Derthona announces the hiring of Francesco Stefanelli, a 1995 cm guard born in 190, coming from Etrusca San Miniato, with whom he concluded the regular season of group A of Serie B in third place.
Product of the San Miniato youth sector, Stefanelli made his debut in Serie B with the La Falegnami Castelfiorentino shirt, with whom he played 27 games at 17' and 4 points on average.
In the following season he returned to San Miniato, being among the protagonists of Blukart's promotion from C to series B with an average of 16.5 points in 28' of use. He later continued his experience in the club where he grew up, establishing himself as one of the most prolific attackers in Serie B (14.3 points on average the first year, 14.4 last year, increased to 18.3 in the playoffs).
Thus sports director Miro De Giuli: “I believe that Francesco is a perfect example of the profile of the boys and players who will make up Derthona next season. He grew one step at a time, working hard to conquer his playing space first in Serie C, and then in Serie B. At the end of last season he decided to try to climb another step and test himself in Serie A2 : beyond his undoubted technical skills, we were struck by the enthusiasm and awareness of his abilities that he demonstrated from the first interviews; we are certain that he can be a very valuable player in the rotations available to coach Pansa."

When, about a month ago, I made the decision to look around and try to gain experience in a category in which I had never played, in my heart I hoped to find a team that could represent a real step in growth for me and for which I could be a player to bet on. In this sense, the call from coach Pansa, who I had faced as an opponent in the past two seasons, represented the realization of my expectations, making me understand that Tortona could be the context I was looking for to test myself. I am happy to join a solid and ambitious club: I will play in a young team, made up of eager kids, with a coach who clearly has a great desire to do well in his first year as head coach in Serie A2.
