Hardness, solidity and pride. These are the three words to best describe Bertram Derthona's second match in the IBSA Next Gen Cup 2022. Opposed to Vanoli Cremona, one of the best youth teams in the category at national level, the Bianconeri lead in the score for over thirty minutes, showing off a choral and effective basketball. Only in the final stages, led by Gallo (author of 29 points), did the Lombards manage to get the upper hand.

Derthona's sprint start in the second match of the IBSA Next Gen: with a 0-11 the Bianconeri lead the first quarter, resisting Cremona's comeback attempts and closing with a 23-31 lead thanks to remarkable precision in the shot from outside (4/ 7). In the second half Bertram widened their margin (28-42), finding good solutions and great offensive fluidity, before Vanoli's return led by Gallo's baskets (15 points in the period): at half-time Leoni ahead 45-46.

Upon returning from the locker rooms, the match flows in balance, between partials and against partials: Bertram, after having been overtaken by her opponent, returns to lead 59-62 in the 30th minute. In the last period the usual Gallo and Zanetti scored the baskets that gave Cremona the advantage, without however breaking the balance of the match. Bertram, with energy and intensity, continues to find high-level offensive solutions and arrives point by point in the final: Gallo's free throws are worth +5 (80-75) with 20 seconds to go. The Lions try until the end, but Vanoli prevails 83-78.
