Defeat in the sprint for Bertram Derthona in game 1 of the Playoff Final of the Silver Board. The Lions chased Torino for almost the entire match, reducing the distance to just one possession several times, shooting for an equalizer twice but surrendering at the siren. In less than forty-eight hours it will already be time for Race 2, again at PalaGianniAsti.
Low scoring first quarter: the Lions trail 11-8 against Torino, in a tense start with many errors and turnovers. In the second half Derthona remained in contact, finding collective offensive solutions: the first half ended with the home team ahead 29-21. Upon returning from the locker room, Bertram raised the level of her game, closing the gap to one possession before closing the third quarter down 46-40. The last half is a real battle between two teams who show intensity and the desire to win: Derthona comes back several times to one possession behind, thus creating a sprint finish. Tavernelli in penetration scores -1 (59-58) entering the last minute, the score then moves with the baskets from the line. Sanders misses the equalizer twice and Cappelletti's coolness on the line gives Turin victory in game 1. The final is 64-60.
