Bertram Derthona prevailed at a distance with a difficult Treviglio who remained in the match until the very last moments of the game. The Lions deserve credit for not being dismayed in the face of a Voskuil who appeared in amazing form and for having been able to react to an overwhelming start from the guests. Then it is the Juventus collective that emerges and Tortona, with a splendid team effort, bringing five players into double figures, thus managing to beat Blu Basket Treviglio 87 to 73.

A great start for Treviglio dragged by Voskuil; two triples in the two attempted occasions forced Bertram Derthona to chase in the early stages of the game. Garri and Sorokas give the Bianconeri the momentary advantage (9-8), but Marino's free throws and yet another triple from Voskuil widen the gap. Remer continues to strike offensively, thanks to the too many turnovers in attack by the Lions. In the final moments of the game Tortona breaks with two consecutive triples from Sorokas, thus making the deficit less bitter. The first quarter ends 23-28 for Blu Basket. The second quarter begins and Tortona momentarily equalizes the scores with five personal points from Spanghero. The point guard in the black and white jersey, top scorer of the second quarter (9 personal points so far), gives the Lions the lead. Voskuil tries to make up for Remer's blackout with a three-point bomb, but the newly entered Divac scores a triple from the corner, keeping the distances unchanged (35-33). Spanghero tries to attack from within seven meters but Treviglio's break with the usual Voskuil doesn't take long to arrive. Yet another two triples from Voskuil force coach Pansa to call a time-out, but Tortona manages to stay in the wake of the Lithuanian Sorokas (46-46). The result does not change and we go to the locker room with the score 46-46. A third quarter full of headers. Blu Basket tries to extend the lead with the usual Voskuil and Marino but Bertram Derthona advances under Spanghero, keeping the match tied (53-53). The match continues intermittently on both sides with baskets from Quaglia and Voskuil closing the third quarter. We go to the last act with a score of 64-62. Tortona is unable to find the right way to score, Pecchia takes advantage of it to even the score (66-66). Break for Tortona with Quaglia and Sorokas trying to dig the first furrow in Blu Basket's defense. With almost 4 minutes to go the scoreboard reads 74 to 68 for the home team. Treviglio seems to be in reserve of energy and Tortona finds the way to score from long range and, with triples from Johnson, Garri, Sorokas and Gergati, wins in a sprint 87 to 73.

Lorenzo Pansa: “This was an important victory. We were very afraid of this match due to the quality shown by Treviglio in the last few matches. They were a confident team and they showed it in the first half. We were good at not falling apart when the match seemed to have taken a turn for the worse and at finding two different protagonists in two different moments of the match. The difference was made in particular by the growth in defense in the second half. This week we worked hard but not with the competitive determination that allowed us to make a breakthrough and in this aspect we could have done much better."
