Bertram Derthona succumbed to a more precise and determined Fortitudo Agrigento, and was defeated by PalaMoncada 88-78.

The Lions are unable to take advantage of a positive start (24-25 at 10'), and as the minutes pass they find themselves having to deal with a Fortitudo Agrigento team capable of making their physical presence felt in the area and capable of leveraging the great desire to make up for it in front of their audience after a series of less positive results. Agrigento did better at the start, with the 5-0 scored by Cannon and Zugno. Tortona reacts with Garri and Johnson, and it is the American in jersey #32 who seals the overtaking, then followed by Stefanelli's triple to make it 12-16 for Juventus. Agrigento reacts with Evangelisti and above all with Cannon (15 at half-time), immediately getting back on track (24-25 at 10'), and then overtaking with Pepe and Williams at the start of the second period. The pace of the game continues to be high, and Guariglia emerges from the battle, author of the baskets that make it 45-38 in the 18th minute and 48-41 in the long interval. At the restart, Derthona took a step forward in terms of aggressiveness and, with Spanghero and Garri, closed the gap (55-51 at 24'), but was unable to come back further: thus Evangelisti's triple and two baskets by Cannon bring Agrigento back into rhythm, which finds the momentum to reach the double-digit lead and close the third quarter at 73-60. Derthona tries to mend the game in the final quarter, but is punished by some particularly complex baskets from Williams, Pepe and Cannon, which allow the hosts to maintain a gap of around double figures until the final siren.

For Derthona there is no time to think: the Lions will return to the field as early as Thursday evening, in the midweek round against Virtus Roma scheduled at PalaOltrepo' at 20.30pm.
