Bertram Derthona gave way in front of a Eurotrend Biella (71-86) who appeared more lively and certainly eager to react after the defeat in the semi-final of the Italian Cup. Against a decidedly attacking visiting team, Derthona chased at a short distance for a good part of the match, but in the end Ferguson's baskets and the less than optimal conditions of several Juventus players led to the defeat.

Eurotrend Biella enters the court with a small quintet due to Tessitori's physical problems and with baskets from Uglietti and Bowers they try to bring the momentum of the match to their side. Bertram Derthona responds to the attacks with long-range baskets from Spanghero and Sorokas, keeping the game in balance. In the final moments of the game Sorokas scores the triple to overtake (23-21), but at the end Ferguson gives the +1 advantage at the siren (23-24 at 10'). The short break does not break the rhythm, with the two teams continuing to play openly. Alibegovic scores seven consecutive points, but Sgobba's mini-break seals the first small escape for the guests (30-35). The teams go to the locker room with a score of 38-41. At the start of the second half Garri and Spanghero tried to put their breath down Eurotrend's neck, but the Lions struggled to respond blow for blow to the continuous assaults of the guests who sealed the lead by nine points, the maximum advantage with 4'22" from the end of the fourth. In Derthona's moment of greatest difficulty, Alibegovic and Gergati scored two long-range baskets which were worth -3 (60-63) with 28" to go. Wheatle brings Biella back to +6, Garri and Johnson try to get the game back on track, but Eurotrend proves ruthless in the scoring phase and maintains the advantage. Ferguson flies on the wings of enthusiasm scoring +11 for coach Carrea's team, with coach Pansa forced to call a time-out. Bertram Derthona went all out, but the Lions had to surrender in the face of a Ferguson who appeared unstoppable with his 28 total points, of which 12 in the last quarter alone, until the final score was 71-86.

Lorenzo Pansa: “Unfortunately, what I feared for the week I had seen happened. At this moment we have little physical energy also due to the period we have lived through; I saw guys who struggled to mentally cope with the toughness of this derby, only to change their attitude at the end as was also the case during the training week. This was tonight's match, in which we showed flashes of energy that were not enough to play a challenge of this kind. Ferguson was then very good at disrupting our defense, even scoring very difficult baskets. Their skill was to make a basket of desire every time we got closer in the score. Now we have to recover our energy, but above all recover the quality of play that characterized our season to play the final part of the season as best as possible."
