It's a real battle at the PalaMangano, where a leonine Bertram Derthona gives in at the end to a Givova Scafati who wins her sixth consecutive victory and conquers the momentary top of the rankings. After a strong start from Campania, Sorokas and his teammates managed to close the gap in the second quarter (47-39 at halftime) and overtake during a third period with thirty points scored. In the final, at point by point it was Captain Crow's aim that made the difference, with five three-point baskets made in the final period, two of which, in particular, in the last two minutes. Applause for Derthona, however close to violating a sports hall that has only fallen on two occasions in the championship, at the hands of Biella and Reggio Calabria.

The news. Scafati immediately had an excellent impact on the match with the Ammannato - Lawrence duo who immediately imposed a 4-0 run, which was then extended to 15-4 in the 5th minute which forced coach Pansa's timeout. Spanghero, Stefanelli and Sorokas play the charge, thus putting together a great comeback that brings the Lions to one possession away (21-19), but Pipitone's winning tap-in arrives at the siren (23-19 in the 10th minute). Coach Perdichizzi's team responds immediately: a 9-0 run at the start of the second quarter puts the Lions thirteen points behind (33-20). The Juventus response came from long range with Alibegovic and Radonjic and with baskets from Garri and Johnson (36-30). The balance persists until 47-39 which takes the teams to the locker rooms. At the restart the inertia of the match changes. Spanghero and Alibegovic scored from long range, Johnson and captain Garri completed the comeback (51-51) with an important run of 13-4. Alibegovic overtakes and Johnson, with two consecutive triples, allows the Lions to reach their maximum lead (60-66). Santiangeli and Spizzichini stop the emergency and bring Scafati back to two points at the third buzzer 67-69. The fourth quarter is heart-pounding: the teams exchange baskets in series, with Scafati led by Crow and Derthona remaining close behind with baskets from Alibegovic and Spanghero (94-91 entering the last minute). Here Spanghero himself fails to materialize the support of the potential -1, while on the other side Crow prints the fifth triple of his sci-fi fourth period, the one that decides the match.

Lorenzo Pansa: “We started too soft to win a match like this. In the first half we always seemed a lap behind both in attack and defense. We can't win games by conceding 98 points, but I want to take away 15, which are the result of great solitary actions. Today there were several protagonists who allowed us to hang on to the match, but in the future we must know that it is necessary to be more solid as a team because we were not built thinking that a single player will solve it."
