Allianz Derthona achieved a very important victory against Vanoli Basket Cremona, thus qualifying, with one round to spare, for the Final Eight of the Next Gen Cup 24/25 which will take place in Brescia from 21 to 23 February 2025. This is the third consecutive qualification for Derthona, after the previous editions in Naples and Trento.

The first quarter is characterized by a substantial balance between the two teams, with continuous exchanges of breaks and counter-breaks that alternate the lead of the match. It is Vanoli, however, who closes in advantage at the end of the first ten minutes of play, with a score of 21-23.

Excellent start in the second quarter for Derthona, led by a super Bazan, author of a very positive start to the game (11 points), which allows the Tortona team to induce a partial of 9-3 and take the lead. Despite an attempt to react by Cremona, Derthona maintains control of the game and closes the quarter at +7 (43-36).

Upon returning to the court, the teams continued to maintain the balance seen in the first quarter, with Derthona defending the advantage accumulated. Towards the end of the third quarter, Vanoli scored two consecutive triples, closing the gap to just 2 points, but Tortona did not lose its composure and, with a partial counter of 6-0, closed the period at 60-52, maintaining the lead of the match.

The final period starts off great for Derthona, who further extends the partial (13-0), opened at the end of the previous quarter, taking a double-digit advantage for the first time. Cremona tries to react, but it is coach Ansaloni's team that prevails and closes the game with a score of 82-66. A fundamental success that seals qualification for the Final Eight in Brescia.

Allianz Derthona will return to the field tomorrow, for the last match of the group stage of the Next Gen Cup, at 15:00 against Dolomiti Energia Trentino at the Pala SGR in Santarcangelo di Romagna.
