The Lions in the national team: Severini, Obasohan and Strautinš
The qualifying window for the national teams for the next EuroBasket 2025 is approaching and three Bertram Derthona players have been selected by their respective national teams.
Luke Severini he is among the fifteen players selected by coach Gianmarco Pozzecco for the Pesaro meeting and for the subsequent matches against Turkey (Thursday 22 February at 20.30pm in Pesaro) and Hungary (Sunday 25 February at 18pm in Szombathely). The Juventus number 20 thus continues his adventure in the national team, after the FIBA World Cup played between August and September.
Retin Obasohan he is instead among the sixteen players chosen by the Belgium coach Dino Gjergja to face the two matches that await the national team: the first is scheduled for Thursday 22 February in Bratislava against Slovakia, while the second is scheduled for Sunday 25 February in Charleroi against Spain reigning European champions.
Strautins
The third Derthona player who has been chosen by his national team is Artūrs Strautinš, included by the Latvia coach Luca Banchi in the list of fifteen players who will take part in the matches against Spain, Thursday 22 February in Zaragoza, and against Slovakia, Sunday 25 February in Riga.
