The Lions with Telethon for research: Mascolo and Sanders shirts up for auction
The link with the territory and the attention to useful and supportive initiatives are key points of the daily activity of Bertram Yachts Derthona, which takes the field alongside the Telethon Foundation on the occasion of the Pro Telethon Charity Auction - in memory of Stefania, scheduled for next May 22nd and 23rd in Silvano d'Orba (Alessandria).
Organized by Daniele and Carmelo Barca (son and husband of the late lady), with the help of Daniele's wife, Patrizia Cetti, the event aims to remember Stefania, who passed away prematurely in 2016 due to fulminant leukemia.
The Lions will contribute to the auction, the proceeds of which will be entirely allocated to research into genetic diseases, by donating two official playing jerseys from the 2020/21 season, signed by Jamarr Sanders and Bruno Mascolo.
These are the words of Daniele Barca: “I am extremely happy and honored that Derthona Basket is joining our pro Telethon charity event in memory of my mother Stefania for the second consecutive year. My family and I have been on the front line for years to help people affected by genetic and rare diseases through Telethon and if there weren't these companies supporting us, it would be difficult to raise funds to help those in need. In Derthona Basket I found people always willing to help and support us, in particular in Francesco Carotti, a very helpful and kind-hearted guy. A truly heartfelt thank you from me and Telethon Alessandria to the Derthona Lions: I look forward to seeing many of you on 22 and 23 May at our charity event in Silvano d'Orba".

It was an immediate pleasure for us to be able to contribute again to the cause that he proposed to us, in memory of his late mother Stefania. We have the sensitivity and awareness that many small gestures can bring great goals, taking important steps in the fight against genetic diseases.
