Hi Ricky, they happen forever

Bertram Derthona reports that Richard Tavernelli he will not wear the black and white number 8 jersey next season.

Arriving in Tortona in the summer of 2019, Tavernelli has been – since the first season – the team captain. There are several unforgettable images that link Riccardo to Derthona Basket in the five seasons spent together. From the 2019 LNP Old Wild West Super Cup raised to the sky at the Allianz Cloud in Milan, passing through the decisive free throws against Eurobasket Roma to access the promotion final the following year, the championship victory cup and the net around the neck at the end of game 5 of the final against Reale Mutua Torino. In three seasons in the top division, Riccardo contributed to reaching the Italian Cup final in 2022, two Scudetto semi-finals against Virtus Bologna and was part of the team that, in 2023/24, appeared for the first time in a European competition, the BCL.

Captain Riccardo Tavernelli took to the field with the Bertram Derthona shirt in 146 matches across all the competitions in which he took part (LNP Super Cup, Italian Cup and A2 championship, championship, Italian Cup and Super Cup of Serie A and BCL), contributing in important way to the growth that the Club and the team have had in the five seasons spent together. Now their paths separate, Tavernelli is preparing to start a new chapter in his career.

The greatest good luck for the future from the entire Company goes to Riccardo and his family!

“I think I know the history of Derthona Basket well – the words of the President Marco Picchi -. I studied it. I lived it. I loved her. There are men and women who have written the most beautiful pages. From today I will write the name of Riccardo Tavernelli in this precious list".
