It's been a perfect week for coach Luca Ansaloni 's boys . Three games between the U19 Eccellenza and Serie B Interregionale teams have resulted in as many victories, the last of which came on Friday evening in the senior championship at their own PalaCamagna in Tortona , following up on the win two days earlier at Magic Oleggio Basket and the win on Monday against Basket Torino in the youth tournament. This time, Collegno Basket fell to the young Gulliver Supermercati Derthona team , defeated 81-72 in the 18th round of the Division A Conference North-West of the fourth national series.
Always ahead in the score from the start of the match, the Bianconeri escaped in the third quarter with a maximum of +20, coinciding with Stefano Conte's further increase in engine rpm in terms of scoring, well supported by Baldi and Tambwe. Collegno doesn't give up and, driven above all by her by far best player of the evening, Tio Tiagrande, falls below the double-digit gap but misses a couple of opportunities to close to -5 at 76-69 with less than three minutes on the clock. Five final points again from MVP Conte (in the photo, celebrated by Ansaloni and the rest of his teammates) give the definitive peace of mind for the 11th victory in 18 races.
A run of form that further solidifies Derthona's position in the most prestigious playoff tier, the Play-In Gold, thanks to their current solitary third place with 22 points, a four-point advantage (but with one game more than their opponents) over fifth place, which qualifies for the Play-In Silver. All this with four rounds remaining in the regular season, three of which are away. Starting with the next one , scheduled for Saturday, January 27th at 9:00 PM at the PalaTreves in Pavia, the second-placed team will face second-placed Riso Scotti Pavia.
