Derthona great coup: Chris Wright arrives as director

The signing of the contract that will bind Chris Wright, a point guard born in '89, to Bertram Derthona arrived last night.

CAREER – Born in Bowie (Maryland) on November 4, 1989, after attending St. John's College High School, he chose the prestigious Georgetown for his collegiate career. After completing his four-year university studies, Wright played the 2011/12 season with Olin Edirne in Turkey, before returning to America with the Iowa Energy in the NBA D-League and in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks.

In 2013 he then played with Capitanes de Arecibo, in Puerto Rico, before accepting the offer of Asvel, in France, in 2013/14. The subsequent experiences of his career took him to Italy, first with the Pesaro shirt and then with that of Varese, where he averaged 11.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists in Serie A and where he also played in the FIBA ​​Europe Cup.

In 2016/17 he accepted the court of Fiat Torino, where he was the starting point guard: Chris confirmed himself as a highly performing player, scoring 11 points per game in 22 seasonal outings in LBA. He also remained in Italy in the following two years, first wearing the Reggio Emilia jersey and then the Trieste one - in 2018/19 - in which he played alongside Jamarr Sanders, who he now finds again in Tortona. Thanks also to his performances, the team coached by Dalmasson reached the playoffs, being eliminated by Vanoli Cremona in the quarter-finals.

After completing his experience in Trieste, he moved to Poland to Pierniki Torun, while in the 2020/21 season he wore the Afyon Belediye vest in Turkey.

Now he returns to Italy for a new chapter in his career, with the black and white colors of Bertram Derthona.
