Good performance in the first scrimmage of the season with Massagno
More than positive indications for the Bertram Derthona in the first scrimmage of the season against SAM Massagno in Aprica. The Bianconeri, after 10 days of training camp in Livigno, were able to test the pitch for the first time against a valid and competitive opponent by winning all quarters of the friendly match (score reset to zero at the end of every 10').
Christon, Harper, Macura, Daum, Radosevic the first starting five of the season chosen by coach Ramondino: in the opening half, after the first few minutes useful for both teams to gain confidence with the pitch, Derthona shows good offensive patterns, finishing ahead 21-23. At the beginning of the second quarter, Bertram found better fluidity in attack and, thanks to a more attentive and aggressive defense, expanded the lead. In the final minutes Massagno reacted and, with a shot at the end, took the lead to -3 (22-25).
Great intensity on the pitch even after returning from the long break: coach Ramondino's boys continue to lead the match despite the drop in shooting percentages due to tiredness (14-18). In the final quarter Bertram stands out on both sides of the pitch: thanks to the excellent ball circulation the Lions build good shots and tighten their defense, winning the last quarter 22-11.
Derthona will take the field again on Sunday 4 September at 19.00 pm in Scandiano against Unahotels Reggio Emilia.
Thus coach Marco Ramondino at the end of the game: “It was a match with many ups and downs, as is normal after eight or nine days of work. It is useful to immediately take inspiration for the next period in which we must look for both a common language and solutions to what happens on the pitch. We will review the match together, but it was useful to get rid of the fatigue of these days and start the process of getting to know the players.".
