Givova Scafati – Orsi Derthona, the pre-match
Just under 48 hours before the tap-off of the ninth day of the championship, we interviewed coach Demis Cavina on Derthona's moment and on the prospects linked to the Scafati match. Here are his words.
Coach Cavina, what is the point of Derthona's situation in the second half of this very "particular" week?
“I think it is superfluous to talk about the logistical difficulties we have had to face this week, in which we have to face two very long journeys without being able to train continuously. The main objective of these days is to recover the physical and mental energy necessary to approach Sunday's match in the correct way, an aspect that was fatal for us in Siena. We face a team that started the season with a very ambitious project, but which became complicated due to numerous accidents along the way and which now does not reflect Scafati's value. The change of technical leadership (from Markovski to Perdichizzi) which occurred a few weeks ago means that the team we will meet is a "work in progress" from a tactical point of view, therefore we have concentrated the preparation of the match above all on our technical details".
What do you think is the first priority in the Derthona household?
“I think that the daring defeat in Biella left too much waste and Siena's bad approach is also due to this. I take responsibility for what happened with the Tuscans, but I would like to see immediate redemption, especially from an emotional point of view."
What are Scafati's strengths?
“We still don't know which of the three foreigners will play, in light of Naimy's injury in Trapani. The group of Italians is moderately experienced and made up mostly of the protagonists of last year's fantastic season. The experience of Perdichizzi, who returned to the Gialloblu bench after his experience last season, will be able to revive the fortunes of the Campania team. Let's hope he can do it from the match after the one against us...”
