Givova Scafati-Bertram Derthona: the precedents in Serie A
Sunday's match at the Beta Ricambi Arena PalaMangano will be the fourth Serie A match in the history between Givova Scafati and Bertram Derthona: the three previous ones all benefited the Bianconeri, capable of imposing themselves both at home and in Campania.
The first match in the top flight between the two teams was played precisely in Scafati: on 18 December 2022, Derthona was the protagonist of an excellent first half (38-56) and hit three-pointers with precision over the course of all forty the minutes (15/31) prevailing with a score of 72-91. In the return match played at PalaEnergica on 22 January 2023, the Juventus team accelerated upon returning from the locker rooms (26-17 in the third quarter), then resisting the opponents' attempts to return and winning with a score of 79-74.
New success for Bertram on 7 January 2024: thanks to a precise and attentive first half on both sides of the pitch (42-23) the Lions found further energy to continue in the second half, expanding the margin up to +37 (89-52) of the mermaid. This match, the last precedent in Serie A between the two teams on Sunday, was also Walter De Raffaele's first ever victory as head coach of Bertram Derthona.
