Presentation of the book 'When a new journey begins' on Thursday 17 March
A story worth knowing: that of Chris Wright , a player for Bertram Derthona who discovered, in 2012, that he was suffering from multiple sclerosis. A disease that has not prevented him from playing at the highest levels, between America and Europe. He, like other more or less famous people, talks about living with this disorder and their success stories in the book " When a New Journey Begins: A Life Beyond Multiple Sclerosis," written by Professor Filippo Martinelli Boneschi , a member of the Neurology team and the Multiple Sclerosis Center at the Policlinico di Milano . For over 25 years, Martinelli Boneschi has been involved in the study, research, and treatment of patients suffering from neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative disorders, particularly those who have contracted multiple sclerosis and dementia.
Derthona Basket and the Tortona Medical and Surgical Society have organized the presentation of this book on Thursday, March 17 , at 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Tortona (entrance from Via Emilia 168 ). The purpose of the event is to share the story of Chris Wright and the other protagonists of the book with Bertram fans and anyone else interested in attending.
The book presentation will be conducted and moderated by Alice Pedrazzi , journalist, and will see, in addition to the speeches of Professor Martinelli Boneschi and Chris Wright, also by Dr. Claudio Massolo , family doctor and President of the Tortona Medical and Surgical Society, and Anna Tonelli , President of AISM Alessandria.
The book "When a New Journey Begins: A Life Beyond Multiple Sclerosis" will be on sale that day at the Namastè Book and Coffee bookshop , adjacent to the CRT Foundation Conference Room. By purchasing the book, you will be directly contributing to a noble cause , as all proceeds from the sale will be donated to AISM (Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association).
The presentation, open to the public until all available seats are filled in the CRT Foundation Conference Hall, will be held in full compliance with the anti-Covid-19 regulations currently in force.
