Born in Livorno on 25 August 1992, Martini took his first steps in the youth sector of Don Bosco Livorno, the team with which he played in National Division B in the 2011/12 season. He started the following year with the same shirt before moving to Serie C to Orzinuovi, where he won promotion to Serie B. The player also played the following year with the Lombard team.

The 2014/15 season begins in Monsummano, in Serie B, before returning to Orzinuovi, where he concludes the year. In 2015/16 Matteo arrived in Serie A2 signing for Legnano, a team in which he remained for three consecutive seasons: in the first year he scored 7.5 points per game on average, while in the following year he played an important role in a team that finished in third place - at behind Biella and Tortona – the regular season. In the playoffs the Lombards surrendered 3-1 to Roseto in the round of XNUMX of the playoffs.

In 2017/18 Martini was once again among the protagonists of the Knights' season, who finished the regular season in third place in the West Group, behind Casale Monferrato and Scafati. In the playoffs, the Lombardy team's run stopped in the round of 3, following a 0-83 defeat at the hands of Verona. In Legnano Martini played a total of 11 games, scoring XNUMX points on average per game.

Last season he made his debut in Serie A with the Pistoia shirt, with which he made a total of twenty appearances; Matteo ends the year by returning to A2 in Latina, reaching the playoffs which ended with a 3-2 elimination at the hands of Montegranaro in the round of XNUMX.

In 2017 he took part in the meeting, held in Cremona, of the Italian national team coached by coach Meo Sacchetti.
