Iceland | November 11, 1994
Born in Reykjanesbaer (Iceland) on November 11, 1994, he took his first steps in Iceland, before moving to the USA for his college years. In 2014/15 he played for Long Island University in Brooklyn, while from 2015 to 2018 he moved to Miami where he was part of the Barry Buccaneers roster.
Once the American experience was over, he returned to Europe: first at Denain, in France, then again in Iceland in 2018/19 with Njardvik - averaging over 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The following year he signed with Boras Basket, in Sweden, where he contributed with his high-level performances (16.7 points and 7.7 assists) to the championship victory.
In 2020/21, Fridriksson plays for Siaulai, Lithuania, before moving to Antwerp, where he played the first part of this season. The point guard concluded his experience in Belgium with 12.1 points and 6.7 assists per game.
Elvar has been part of all Iceland's youth national teams and is now a staple of the roster of the senior team placed in the same group as Italy for the 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
