Born in Cordoba on 11 March 1987 Ariel is an Argentinian naturalized Italian basketball player. Raised in a family of basketball players - his father German and brothers Demian, Pablo and Juan were players - he arrived in Italy at a very young age, taking his first steps between Porto Torres and Rimini.

In 2008 he received the call from Olimpia Milano, with whom he made his debut in Serie A, before ending the year with the Vanoli Soresina shirt, with whom he was a great protagonist in the ride that led the Lombard team to win promotion to Serie A at the end of the playoff final won 3-1 against Dinamo Sassari.

After starting the following year with Olimpia, he moved to Scafati, in Legadue, with whom he achieved access to the playoffs which ended in the first round with elimination at the hands of Prima Veroli. In 2010/11 he wore the Pistoia vest, with which he was eliminated by Casale Monferrato - then promoted to Serie A - in the first playoff round, while the following year he was part of the Olimpia Milano roster with which he played for 8.9 minutes competing.

In 2012/13 he returned to Legadue again with the Trieste shirt, before being hired by Reggio Emilia the following season, which ended with the victory of the Eurochallenge. Filloy then returned to Pistoia, where he became captain, where he played in the next two seasons, averaging 9 points per game.

After two years in Tuscany, Ariel moved to Reyer Venezia, a team with which he became Italian champion at the end of the Scudetto final, won 4-2 against L'Aquila Basket Trento. After the year in Laguna, he moved to the ambitious Sidigas Avellino with which he reached the playoff quarter-finals and the final of the FIBA ​​Europe Cup, where the team was defeated by Reyer Venezia. He remained in Irpinia also the following year before returning - in 2019/20 - to Umana Reyer.

In the last year he played with the glorious shirt of VL Pesaro, contributing to reaching the Italian Cup final lost against Armani Exchange Milano.

He made his debut with the Italian national team in 2006, with the Under 20s: the following year he won bronze at the European Championships in the category. After almost ten years, in 2017, he returned to wear the blue vest during the qualifiers and final phase of Eurobasket 2017. Italy's adventure ended with their elimination at the hands of Serbia in the quarter-finals. With the blue shirt he then takes part in the qualifiers and the final phase of the 2019 FIBA ​​World Cup.

Now he comes to Bertram Derthona to start a new chapter in his career.
