Second new American arrival in the small sector for the Bertram Derthona BasketballThe black and white club announces that it has signed an agreement with Prentiss Hubb, returning to Italy after the experience of two seasons ago in Trento and the one that ended a few weeks ago at AEK Athens, with which he was an opponent of Derthona in the Basketball Champions League.

A 190 cm tall, 80 kg play-guard, 26 years old, Hubb is preparing to experience with Derthona the fourth season of his professional career, spent entirely in Europe after leaving Notre Dame college. A player with outstanding skills in shooting from outside and as a passer, the new player of Bertram closed last season with averages of 10.5 points and 4.4 assists with 37.7% shooting from three in the 45 games played between Greece and BCL, the latter competition where he produced 12.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists in almost 26 minutes on average with 41.7% from beyond the arc. The performance shown against Bertram in the first leg of the Top 16 group stands out in particular: 30 points in just over 29', 5/9 from three for a total of 10/14 from the field, 6 rebounds and 3 assists for the success of the Athenians (93-86), who also came within a whisker of victory in the return match in Casale Monferrato thanks to another 18 points from the American.

The season in the Hellenic peninsula followed the Italian adventure with Trento, with whom in 2022/23 he played 32 games between LBA and Coppa Italia at 11.5 points and 4.9 assists in 24.7' per game shooting over 7 three-pointers with 36.3% success rate, adding further experience in European cups with his participation in the Eurocup after the Champions League of his rookie year in Europe with the Germans of MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg.

Prentiss will meet up again in Tortona with two old acquaintances, Paul Biligha, a former teammate in Trento, and assistant coach Andrea Vicenzutto, with him at AEK.

STATEMENTS  “Prentiss is the player we were looking for. He brings the perfect mix of talent, experience and toughness that I am sure will help our team a lot. We are very happy to welcome him,” the coach's comment Mario Fioretti.

THE CARREER Born on March 19, 1999 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, he spent his college years at Notre Dame, closing out his four-year stint with the Fighting Irish with a final season of 14.6 points and 5.8 assists and the personal recognition of being named to the third best quintet in the ACC the year before. His career in Europe began in 2022/23 in the Bundesliga at Ludwigsburg, a club from which his teammate Ezra Manjon had just arrived at Derthona. His performances in Germany (15.0 points and 5.6 assists in 30.6') earned him a call to Serie A from Trento. Then came the Greek arrival at AEK and the new stop in Italy.
