Four confirmations for Derthona Basket: Gorham, Hubb, Olejniczak and Pecchia still in black and white
Derthona Basket announces the confirmations for the 2026/27 season of Justin Gorham, Prentiss Hubb, Dominik Olejniczak, and Andrea Pecchia. These four players will form the starting lineup for Mario Fioretti's team at the start of the upcoming Serie A and BKT EuroCup.
American power forward Gorham, who turns 28 next August, becomes the player with the longest tenure in black and white on the next roster by virtue of his arrival in Tortona in the summer of 2024, thus bringing his seasons in Derthona to three.
Hubb, a 27-year-old American point guard who arrived last summer from AEK Athens, enjoyed a first season with Bertram, rewriting the club's history in the national top flight, scoring a new club record of 37 points in a single game in a 104-99 home win over Trieste on February 8th. He was also named by the LBA to the top five candidates in the end-of-season voting for the Sixth Man of the Year trophy.
Polish center Olejniczak, who celebrates his 30th birthday today, at 213 centimeters tall will continue to guarantee rim protection and a significant amount of rebounds (third best overall and offensive rebounder of the last LBA regular season), in addition to the offensive concreteness demonstrated by his 67.0% two-point percentage, which made him the second-best shooter near the rim in Serie A.
With the addition of Pecchia, born in 1997 and also in his second year at Tortona, the Lions once again secure the glue that holds the team together and a key player in coach Fioretti's rotation.
In addition to last year's four protagonists, Edoardo Di Meo, born in 2008 in Cuneo, Piedmont, a starting point guard for the Tortona U19 Eccellenza team, fresh from winning the category's Scudetto, has also been promoted to the First Team.
