Winning debut for the Under 19s in the Interzone

Good first for the Juventus juniors in the inter-regional concentration underway in Cecina (LI) valid for qualification for the National Final of the Under 19 Elite category championship
Against Gualdo Tadino (1st place Umbria) the Casalone boys had a slow start, as was to be expected in the first match of such an important Interzone. In the second quarter our boys pulled ahead of their opponents, finding easy baskets, even on the counterattack, without however managing to put in place an adequate and concentrated defense. The Umbrians thus managed to get back into the game first and take the lead in the last half. Tava and his teammates, however, regain the right concentration and are good at regaining the game with two laps to go (from -6) when a heartless team would have let them escape. With a triple 2" from the end of regulation Gualdo Tadino impacts the match and we go to extra time. In overtime, after a point-to-point start, Derthona takes off and brings home their first victory. Tonight we play against Legnano who beat Ferrara in the other scheduled match. The Lombards are a highly rated team against which a very different test will be needed than yesterday's, especially in our half of the pitch. The third match with the Emilians is scheduled for Wednesday morning. We remind you that the first and second place in each of the Interregional Concentrations will advance to the National Final, “Mario Delle Cave” Trophy, scheduled in Vasto from 11 to 17 May.
