Derthona third at the Morelli Trophy
The 3rd 4th place final of the VII Morelli Trophy has just ended which saw the Blu Orobica Treviglio take the field against our Lions. Coach Cavina's team ranked third, winning with a score of 95 to 68.
Derthona fields Spissu, Marks, Reati, Brooks and Ammannato, while coach Vertemati starts with Marino, Turel, Kyzlink, Chillo and Rossi. For the first five minutes the balance reigns between the two teams, but Tortona begins to take measures and thanks to the towers of Garri and Brooks with the help of a triple from Marks, the first quarter ends with a score of 29 to 23. In the second half triples by Reati and Marks allow the Lions to enter the locker room with a score of 47 to 38.
After the long interval, coach Cavina's team takes off with an asphyxiating defense and a choral team game and reaches +20. The scoreboard at the end of the third period reads 73 to 53 for Derthona. The fourth period allows both coaches to rotate the team, giving space to the young players. Antonietti (author of a block on Rossi) Riva and Gay get on the scoresheet.
