Orsi Tortona returns to victory after the unexpected defeat of Piacenza which had effectively cut it out of the playoff discussion. Derthona made a rocket start with an immediate 7-0 lead (3'), but Legnano, despite having obvious roster difficulties, mended the score in an amen (9-8 at 6'), then put their heads forward with a penetration by Krubally (11-12).
Orsi shakes off the rust and at the end of the period extends with a bomb from Simoncelli's corner (21-14). In the second period the Tortonesi fired volleys from distance, allowing the Knights to get back to +2 (23-25). A small advantage that Legnano maintained until the end of the first half (42-43). The second half continues to offer emotions on both fronts: Derthona returns to +4 (54-50). Legnano continues to rely on Krubally and Di Bella while Petrucci is damaging.
While on the other side Galloway shows off some flashes of class for the decisive extension. Captain Gioria with a bomb and a penetration gives the +15 (75-60) which becomes l+16 (77-61) at the end. But Legnano doesn't give up, returning to within 10 (81-71) with 7' left. Coach Cavina is forced to call time out to reorganize his ideas but in the last minutes Tortona finds a couple of penetrations under the basket that put an end to the contest. In the end it was a big celebration in the stands of the Palaoltrepò once again packed despite the imminent Easter holiday.
