Derthona Basketball Lab: «We're starting with great enthusiasm»
TORTONA. The season also begins again for the Youth Sector with the officialization of the new name of Derthona Basketball Lab which will henceforth be called all the Juventus young teams. Thanks above all to the work of the manager Andrea Ablatico, it was possible to consolidate the collaboration, already begun in past seasons, with other companies in the province (Alessandria, Valenza, Castellazzo and San Salvatore). A long-term project that aims to raise the quality level of the groups, enhancing both individual local promises and unexpressed potential and trying not to waste the work done in past years. «We start the new season with renewed enthusiasm to increase the number of members given the great passion that has been created in the city. We will try to follow in the footsteps of the Serie A team", comments Andrea Ablatico.
Under 18 Excellence (levies 1999-2000)
The formation entrusted to the coach from Alessandria Vanni Talpo includes the historic group of '99 from Tortona, integrated by the new acquisition Alberto Apuzzo (born in 2000) and a very interesting group of 2000 from Valenza, San Salvatore M.to and Castellazzo. There are 2 qualifying groups. Derthona was included in the Piedmont-Ligurian interregional group together with Vado Ligure, Alba, Omegna, Biella and Borgomanero. The cadets have already started the season last Thursday by hosting Borgomanero and will reply at PalaCamagna next Thursday 6 October at 20,45pm against Biella.

Under 18 Regionals (levies 1999-2000)
It will be a team made up of both those who will not find space in the Excellence category and those who are out of quota at Under 16 level. An "experimental" team therefore, which however could reserve more than one surprise during the championship. The technical guidance was entrusted to Giovanni Noli.
Under 16 Excellence (leverage 2001)
Championship with registered teams from Piedmont and Liguria divided into two groups of 8. Derthona reaches group A in the company of Vado Ligure, Borgomanero, Junior Casale M., Biella, Santa Margherita Ligure, Auxilum Torino and Trecate. Debut on Sunday 16 October at 11am at PalaCamagna hosting Borgomanero. The new coach will be Alessio Gaudio from Turin coming from PMS Torino.
Under 15 Elite (leverage 2002)
The group will be made up of the same players who last year won the regional title in the Under 14 category coached by Paolo De Ros and could be integrated by a couple of elements from Zimetal Alessandria. Repeating the brilliant past season in a new category and moreover at Elite level will be tough, but we are certain that the new coach Giovanni Noli will be able to stimulate the Tortona students towards further goals.
Under 14 Regional (leverage 2003)
Once registration at the Elite level has passed, coach De Ros' boys will participate in the basic championship hoping to redeem the disappointing end of last season which saw them excluded from the second regional phase. The talented Andrea Bottaro from BC Castelnuovo Scrivia has joined the consolidated group of 2003 locals.
Under 13 Elite (leverage 2004)
There are 5 groups in the Region of 5 teams each. Making his debut in youth tournaments after a brilliant past in minibasketball, the Tortonese player is placed in the challenging group D together with teams all from the Turin hinterland such as Grugliasco, Piossasco, Ciriè and OASI Laura Vicuna of Rivalta. It starts on Saturday 15 October with the trip to Grugliasco. The new coach of the very young Bianconeri will be Paolo De Ros.
minibasket
Registration is open for introductory basketball courses for recruits from 2005 to 2011. The courses began in the first week of the school year: the first 4 lessons are free and registration will be formalized at the end of the trial period. Coordinating the technical area of minibasketball is the highly confirmed Paolo Mossi, assisted this year by Federico Aime and Giorgio Ronchiato. Information at the PalaCamagna secretariat. In the meantime, the young Juventus promises have already taken to the parquet, last Sunday taking part in the Mini Stars tournament in Cento, selected by Aquilotti (2006 and 2007), emerging victorious in the match against their peers from Imola, Legnago and Cento, defeating 21-15 in the final the hosts.
