Derthona Basket united in the pain of Valenza Basket and BC Castelnuovo for the passing of Marco Canepari and Renzo Granata
Derthona Basket joins, moved, affectionately with Valenza Basket, struck by the passing of President Marco Canepari, at the age of 67.
ʺCanepari was an important point of reference for regional basketball – begins Andrea Ablatico, president of the Derthona Basketball Lab – always attentive to basketball events and developments. Our two companies collaborated together for a period of three years, participating in Excellence championships with mutual satisfaction, also encouraging the growth of our movement in the province of Alessandria. Together with his friend Stefano Piccio Marco promoted this collaboration every day, with his calm and gentlemanly way of being: he was a great dreamer of basketball, which saw him as a protagonist for the last forty years. On behalf of everyone at Derthona Basket, I am close to the friends of Valenza Basket in this sad momentʺ.

Canepari loved all the players who passed through the stadium over the years; away from the spotlight, he was the man who allowed city basketball to reach the top of the then B2. Derthona Basket joins together and is also moved to share in the pain of the friends of BC Castelnuovo Scrivia, affected in recent days by the passing of Doctor Renzo Granata, the Club's Social Doctor. Sixty-eight years old, he has been an important member of the club since 1985, the year of refoundation, always attentive to basketball developments and ready to reassure anyone who entered the Castelnuovo Scrivia arena with a smile. Doctor Granata, in his gentlemanly nature, has always looked with interest at the city movement, from the first team to the youth teams, making himself available to the Club. Derthona Basket would like to extend its heartfelt condolences to BC Castelnuovo Scrivia and Renzo's family.
