Derthona Basket strongly ties itself to Baskin: from tomorrow to Saturday in Tortona the international tournament “EuroHoop 4 All 2.0”
The city of Tortona becomes the European capital of baskin for four days. EuroHoop 4 All 2.0 is the project behind the international tournament that Derthona Basket – in collaboration with the Baskin ODV Association and financed by the European Union thanks to the victory of the Erasmus Plus call – is organizing from tomorrow to Saturday 21 September with the presence of 12 teams from all over the Old Continent, with the patronage of the Municipality of Tortona. The PalaCamagna and the Cittadella dello Sport “Marcellino e Pietro Gavio” will be the theater of the challenges of the first inclusive sport in the world, which allows able-bodied and disabled people to play basketball together.
PROGRAM The entire city will be the backdrop to the event, starting with the gathering of the participating teams tomorrow at 18:18 p.m. at PalaCamagna, from where the parade will start along Via Emilia to Piazza Duomo, where the inauguration ceremony will take place at 30:16 p.m. (in case of bad weather, the ceremony will be held in the Palestra Codevilla of PalaCamagna). It will be preceded at 15:15 p.m. by the conference “The new frontiers of integrated and inclusive sport. Experiences, voices and visions”, scheduled in the Sala Romita of the Town Hall, with the presence of Matteo Soragna, Sky talent, former player of the Italian national basketball team and current baskin player, among others. On Thursday and Friday, the PalaCamagna will be the hub, both with the preliminary round matches and with the camp that will see the tournament teams on the parquet and, representing the Tortona area, a team composed of guests from the Centro Paolo VI, a partner of the project. On Saturday, the various finals will move to the Cittadella dello Sport facility, with the highlight scheduled for 3:4 pm for the 17rd-30th place final and 20:15 pm for the title final. The awards ceremony and closing ceremony will follow, graced by the presence of another former European basketball champion, Nikos Zisis, and the delegation from the National Observatory on Bullying and Youth Discomfort, headed by its founder, former Olympic champion Luca Massaccesi. Among the events to highlight is the round table on Friday 30 at XNUMX:XNUMX pm in Sala Romita “Towards the European Baskin Association”, where Antonio Bodini, Alexy Valet, consultant in Training Processes and Project Design, and Marco Cardinaletti, the project manager of EuroCube who conceived the entire event together with Monica Prati and Deborah Repetti, co-responsible for Social Projects at Derthona Basket, will speak.
MEDIA RadioPnr will be the media partner of the event with live coverage from the Educational Village at PalaCamagna and for the final day from the Cittadella dello Sport. The two finals of the tournament on Saturday will both be broadcast live on the Derthona Official Tv Youtube channel.
STATEMENTS “The baskin tournament is an event that marks a step in the history of our society and our city.”, says the CEO of Derthona Basket, Ferencz Bartocci. “2024/25 will represent the inauguration season of the Cittadella dello Sport for Derthona Basket and hosting the tournament finals in the facility right now is a source of great pride. We consider basketball one of the most inclusive disciplines that can exist in the relationship between athletes and fans due to the closeness that exists in the arenas between the stands and the court. With baskin it means being 100% inclusive even on the court and I will never stop thanking Antonio Bodini for what he has managed to invent. I strongly believe in baskin and as a Club we think it could be the future of the inclusive sports discipline to be practiced in all schools. No one is ever excluded from this game which obviously also aims at competition and bringing one of the two teams to victory, this is the essence of the sports discipline in its fullness, trying to win and giving the best of yourself. So, welcome to Tortona to all the athletes, have fun, try to win this prestigious tournament, even if we are all already winners because the strength of the tournament lies precisely in participation. Long live baskin, long live baskin athletes”.
