Demis Cavina towards Trapani: “The desire to win continues to be the same as always”

Demis Cavina is a Derthona team riding on the wings of a great moment, with six victories out of the six matches in the second half of the season.
“The recent victories came because of what we did on the pitch and gave us great morale. The growth of the team has allowed us to gain in terms of depth and rotations; we are satisfied with what we have achieved, but our heads are always turned towards the next match: the desire to win continues to be the same as always."

The seventh round brings Derthona to Trapani, in the presence of one of the teams that in the summer were among the favorites to move up in category.
“Together with Ferentino, they were considered two of the most highly rated teams in the group. Like the Ciociari, our next opponents also experienced a troubled path but never gave the feeling of giving up or giving in to the difficulties. In light of the injuries and the new arrivals, they are currently fielding a slightly different set-up compared to the first match, but they have maintained their size and talent in all roles. Renzi and Mays remain the first options in attack, but they can exploit more than one mismatch in the other roles too.”

In place of the injured Carleton Scott, the former Derthona player Jaye Crockett arrived in Trapani ten days ago, a boy you brought to Tortona. What are your memories?
“Jaye was the first American in Tortona's history and he left me, his teammates and the team with excellent memories during an at times exhilarating season. I'm happy that he's back on European parquets after his Japanese stint, because he deserves them and I'm happy that he's found in Trapani, where he will end the season, a demanding place, with an excellent coach, a good group and a very organized club. ”

How did your training week go?
“As we announced after the Ferentino match, this week too we played a midweek friendly match to better manage the general condition of the team.
On Wednesday in Turin we played a good match and achieved the technical objectives we had set ourselves; furthermore, the size of a top-flight team helped us prepare for the difficult trip to Sicily, where we will find one of the most physical teams in this championship.”
