Attention to social issues and the promotion of initiatives of local and national importance are key points of the daily activity of Bertram Derthona, which has always been interested in expanding and involving associations and partners in its path.
Project born in 2021 from an idea shared between Derthona Basket and Riccoboni and which, over the years, has expanded to involve schools and local institutions to become a real point of reference for social initiatives shared between the Club and its partners.
Derthona Basket has always been careful to convey messages from associations that act both locally and nationally. At the same time it participates in the initiatives promoted by local non-profit organisations.
One of Derthona Basket's missions is sustainability: there are several projects carried out together with partners in which the Club has focused on the importance of an important issue such as respect for the environment in which we live.
Derthona Basket represents a showcase for associations and people who are involved in the social sphere. There are numerous events in which the Company has been an organizer or occasions in which it has hosted solidarity initiatives in its offices.
Following the success of EuroHoop4All2.0, a Baskin course will begin in December at the Cittadella dello Sport facility. The goal is to create a Derthona Basket Baskin team. The growing participation has allowed the club to officially present its Baskin team, Derthona Baskin, on March 23, 2025, during halftime of the home game against Estra Pistoia. Currently, there are 40 registered athletes and volunteers; weekly training sessions of approximately two hours are held at the Cittadella dello Sport facility, and new registrations are being requested for the 2025-2026 sports year, in addition to the interest it is generating among schools and disability associations. Baskin is beginning to be sought after for team-building events by companies and sponsors. The team is coached by Elena Mazzuccotelli, who completed her training as a Baskin coach at EISI. Baskin is part of the Derthona BasketbalLab SSD.
