Davide Meluzzi is a new Derthona player
Derthona announces the hiring of Davide Meluzzi, coming from Basket Rimini Crabs. Born in Rimini on 16 August 1998, a 185cm playmaker, Davide is a product of his hometown's youth academy, with which he participated in numerous National Finals, and was called up to several meetings with the Under18 and Under20 national teams.
His debut in the first team took place during the 2014/15 season, in which he made a total of 8 appearances. In 2015/16 Davide found a permanent place in the Serie B rotations (2.2 points in 9' of average use), and then made a decisive leap in quality last season, which ended with ninth place in the standings and with an average 13 points (56% from 2, 38% from 3), 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 33 minutes of use. Davide Meluzzi will wear the number 4 shirt.
Thus sports director Miro De Giuli: “Davide is a boy with excellent potential, who has been able to combine a very respectable youth career with a Serie B championship played as a protagonist, demonstrating personality and concreteness. These two aspects are what pushed us to focus on him, aware that he will have to face some important changes, such as moving up a category and adapting to a new environment, but equally confident that his desire to work and emerge will be very useful during the season.”
