Minibasketball manager Alessio Gaudio confirmed

Minibasketball manager Alessio Gaudio confirmed

A welcome confirmation from Bertram Derthona's technical staff: Alessio Gaudio he will also hold the position of minibasketball manager in the 2019/20 season.

ʺContinue the path begun with Alessio three seasons ago – the comment of Andrea Ablatico, president of the Derthona Basketball Lab – it is a source of great satisfaction. I am sure that, in his fourth year in Tortona, he will do everything to continue on the path he took as mini-basketball manager last season. Our goal is to be a point of reference for the area: at the moment, thanks to the ongoing collaborations with Castelnuovo and Voghera, we involve five hundred kids between the youth sector and mini basketball.

After starting his coaching career at Pallacanestro Moncalieri, a club where he remained from 2007 to 2013, Alessio became Marco Spanu's assistant in the women's team of Libertas Moncalieri. In the 2014/15 season the Turin team reached the National Finals, played in Battipaglia, with the Under 18s and the playoff semi-final of A3, lost against Castelnuovo Scrivia then promoted to A2.

In the summer of 2016 Gaudio moved to Derthona Basket, becoming part of the technical staff of the youth sector. In the first season he led the Under 16 Eccellenza, while the following year - coaching the Under 13 and Under 14 Elite groups - he achieved important results, coming close to the category finals. In 2018/19 he returned to being the head coach of the Under 16 Eccellenza and took on the role of Juventus minibasket manager, which he will also retain in 2019/20, his fourth consecutive season in Tortona.

ʺLast year we increased the number of members and satisfied parents and players with a fun and educational offer at the same time. For this reason I am happy to continue my work as mini-basketball manager – comments Alessio Gaudio – with the aim of improving both on a personal level and as a staff, trying to help the younger guys with my experience. I am convinced that it is possible to make further progress with the support and enthusiasm of society and families. I take this opportunity to wish our little Leoncini happy holidays, with the hope of finding them recharged to start the activity again in Septemberʺ.
