Regional and youth activity for the 2019/20 season concluded
Bertram Yachts Derthona communicates that FIP President Gianni Petrucci, in the context of the health emergency that has hit Italy and, in general, the world community, following the analyzes carried out in the Board meeting of last March 9th and after having listened to the opinion of the deputy vice-president, the representative of the council and the coordinator of the activities of the Competitive Sector, decided to declare the 2019/20 sports season concluded for each activity (mini-basketball, youth sector, senior, female and male) organized by the individual Regional Committees.
ʺAs a club we take note of the wise decision made by President Gianni Petrucci regarding the closure of the regional and youth championships for the current season. Today – comments Andrea Ablatico, President of the Derthona Basketball Lab – there are definitely more important battles and games to fight. From our point of view, there remains the regret of a season, in some ways unrepeatable for us, left halfway through. What our Under 18 Excellence was doing in the most important youth championship in Italy will forever remain in our hearts as a ride bordering on the unreal. It's as if we had won, as all our athletes and coaches have won, from the smallest child in minibasketball to Massimo Olivieri, sweating every day on a basketball court. Today life is different. But we'll see each other again soon. Because this is just an asideʺ.
