Coach Pansa presents the match against Leonis Roma
It's the eve of the season for Bertram Derthona: coach Lorenzo Pansa's team is looking forward to the away match in Ferentino, where they will face Leonis Roma, a "very talented team that will have extra motivation in playing in front of their home crowd. Roma will be upset about their debut defeat in Trapani, so we'll have to play a game of great individual responsibility to limit their offensive threats. Another aspect that will require close attention is managing the offensive tempo throughout the game ."
The roster available to coach Fabio Corbani boasts several players of high caliber for the A2 championship, such as "Zeisloft, Amici, and Hollis who —coach Pansa continues— are players capable of creating offensive solutions even outside of the game. The two point guards, Piazza and Touré, are the team's metronomes and are responsible for setting up their teammates. Another player to watch out for is Loschi, a true silent killer with his three-point shot. Under the basket, Leonis can count on the solidity of Infante and Fall, while Fanti and Cicchetti come off the bench and guarantee minutes of great defensive intensity when called upon ."
The challenges of facing a strong opponent, considered among the top contenders in the standings, are exacerbated by the physical issues that have affected Bertram's approach to the match. "They were able to train with a reduced number of players, but there was no lack of commitment and seriousness from my players. We want to overcome what, to date, may be our limitations related to the injury situation: the defeat against Siena in the closing stages, at the end of a match we initially controlled and then lost, made us angry and must serve as a motivation for us," concluded coach Pansa.
