THEU19 Excellence ofAllianz Derthona Tortona fly to National Finals. Beating in the direct home clash for second place in the league table Pall. Varese for 89-76 of 20th and third to last day of National Group 1 the black and white team achieves the mathematical certainty of finishing among the top three that will qualify for the Italian tournament with 2 rounds to spare. From the 29 April to the 5 May a Chiusi, in the province of Siena, the Tortona Lions will also be among the 16 teams that will compete for the title category, a goal that comes just a few weeks after the second place achieved by the team Luca Ansaloni to the Final Eight of Legabasket's Next Gen Cup.
With a 4 point margin plus the advantage in the direct clash over the fourth in the standings, Allianz presented itself to the challenge on the friendly tables of PalaCamagna to play the first of the three match points to secure the ticket for the Italian tournament. For its part, Varese had to try to defend second place from the onslaught of the home team, only 2 points behind in the ranking and with the possibility of overturning the -6 from the first leg. Baldi and his teammates achieved the double blow of success and bringing the direct battle to their side, with a match conducted with authority from the first quarter. With a double-digit lead already after the opening 10 minutes with a collective contribution in front of the baskets almost exclusively from Assui on the Varese side, who was complaining about Zhao's absence due to injury, Tortona also managed to reach a maximum of +18 and coldly manage the guests' comeback attempt, which reached a maximum of -6 in the fourth period before being rejected by the plays of Baldi, Josovic, Conte and Tambwe in attack and by a great team defense.

But above all the success sealed thereaching the National Finals which a Derthona Basket youth team had been missing since the 2021/22 season, when it was the U17 Eccellenza coached by Ansaloni who qualified for the very last act of their reference tournament.
From here to Chiusi the Bianconeri now have the last two days of the championship left, to be played on the My Basket Genova pitch on Monday 18 March and at home against Aurora Desio the following Monday 25 March.
