Cavina: «With Legnano we must seek continuity»

"The primary goal is to seek consistency throughout the game, especially in the offensive half," commented coach Demis Cavina on the eve of Derthona's game against Legnano tomorrow at 18 p.m. at the PalaEuroimmobiliare in Castellanza. "We had the same problem at the start of the season, and we won more games by relying on defense, which must therefore return to being our starting point. The defense must give us the ability to run on the counterattack more, thus improving our attack from the offensive transition." After the 0-for-20 first half against Treviglio, are you concerned about the team's three-point percentage? "The goal of every offense is to create high-quality shots, which then land if the shooter's confidence and determination are high. There's no problem with long-range shooting because we know which aspects will allow us to raise our averages," says the coach, explaining the team's weekly training sessions. "In recent days, we've been able to complete some work on the technical side and athletic conditioning. Aside from a few aches and pains, having a week like this midway through the season has allowed us to refuel and prepare for the final fifteen games of the second half of the season. Legnano, like Biella and other teams doing well in this group, can count on a group of players they've been working with for some time and have supplemented with players experienced in this category. They're undefeated at home, where they're able to impose their essential basketball and significantly increase their defensive intensity."
