Bertram Derthona greets Captain Luca Garri
Bertram Derthona bids farewell to captain Luca Garri: the great adventure of the player born in 139 in the black and white jersey ends after 2 games played in the regular season and playoffs of Serie A1526, Italian Cup and Super Cup, and 82 points scored.
Arriving in Tortona in 2015, Garri was the first Olympic medalist to have worn the Derthona shirt: with his experience and professionalism he made a significant contribution to the growth of the club.
Luca was in fact among the great protagonists of the goals achieved by the Juventus Club during the four seasons spent together: in particular in his first two years he contributed to reaching the quarter-finals of the A2 playoffs, which ended with elimination at the hands of Brescia – then promoted to Serie A – in 2015/16 and Trieste the following year.
The Italian Cup remains unforgettable, the most prestigious success achieved by Bertram Derthona in its history, raised as captain in the sky of Jesi on 4 March 2018 at the end of an event that saw the Lions defeat Trieste, Biella and Ravenna in the final. In 2017/18 Garri also provided an important contribution to winning the playoffs which ended with a 3-1 defeat in the series against an opponent of the caliber of Udine.
