Bertram Derthona, Ferencz Bartocci is the new General Director
Bertram Derthona announces that the agreement has been reached with Ferencz Bartocci for the role of General Manager, a position that will become operational starting from 1 July 2019. Born in Matellica (Mc) in 1971, Bartocci is fresh from his experience at Fiat Torino Auxilium.
CAREER – Bartocci began his career as press officer for Fabriano Basket, a role he held from 1993 to 1998. After the parenthesis, from 1998 to 2000, as General Manager of Fabriano Volleyball in Serie B, Ferencz returned to Fabriano Basket, where he conquered a promotion to Serie A – in the 2000/01 season – and reached the Scudetto playoffs the following year with coach Maurizio Lasi. In Fabriano, where he remained from 2000 to 2007, he held various roles until taking on the role of General Manager, working for two seasons as Sports Director alongside Ario Costa.
In the 2008/09 season he was Sports Director at Montegranaro, where he qualified for the Final Eight of the Italian Cup and achieved salvation at the end of the year. From 2009 to 2014 he worked in Veroli, in the first year as Organizational Director with Antonello Riva and then as General Manager; in Lazio he won the A2 Italian Cup twice, in 2010 and 2011, also coming close to promotion to Serie A in the 2009/10 season, when he reached the final of the promotion playoffs with coach Massimo Cancellieri, losing against Sassari: in that team also Kyle Hines now captain of European champion CSKA. In 2014/15 he held the position of General Manager in Brescia, where the team reached the playoff semi-final, being eliminated 3-1 by Manital Torino, then promoted to Serie A.
From 2015 to 2017 he was General Manager at FMC Ferentino, while the following season he held the same role in Bergamo. In 2018/19 Bartocci took on the role of Chief Operating Officer and then General Manager of Fiat Torino Auxilium.
Ferencz Bartocci holds a diploma in Communication Sciences and has been a registered journalist since 1994 thanks to his work at Il Resto del Carlino. In 2016 he was awarded the prestigious Bronze Star for Sporting Merit by CONI for his managerial commitment in twenty years of activity.
