Still in control of the match, Bertram Derthona beat Assigeco Piacenza 67-58. Convincing collective performance seven days after the first tap-off at PalaOltrepo' on Saturday at 20,30pm with Viola Reggio Calabria. In both midfields the Lions showed good understanding throughout the match. Bertram Derthona's preseason therefore ends positively against former Davide Reati's Ucc Piacenza in the 3rd Guido Ghisolfi Memorial.

The first quarter ends 20-9 for the home team. The Lions, in front of a large audience, ride on the wave of enthusiasm. Sorokas and Radonjic scored the three triples which put Ucc Piacenza at eleven points. In the first 10 minutes of the game, the Lithuanian scored 11 points. In the second period Tortona gained its maximum advantage almost five minutes from the end; 30-11 with a twelve-man rotation. The Lions travel on the shields, preventing coach Zanchi's quintet from attacking the basket. Captain Luca Infante tries to reduce the deficit, but Derthona maintains great intensity in the first 20 minutes. The second quarter thus ends 21-35 for coach Pansa's men. Upon returning from the locker rooms, the Bianconeri maintained control for the entire ten laps of the clock. The usual Sorokas, together with captain Garri, impose the twenty-three distances of detachment. The final period therefore begins with coach Pansa's quintet ahead 61-38. The red and whites experienced a real reaction for the first time in a match led for almost two thirds by the home team. Reati and Zampolli manage to reduce the deficit and thus make the defeat less bitter. The 3rd Guido Ghisolfi Memorial was thus won by Bertram Derthona 67 to 58.

Lorenzo Pansa: “We played a great match for 30 minutes, with a really good quality of play, in which we committed a few too many defensive inattentions but managed to make up for it with energy and intensity. The last ten minutes, however, were very superficial, which we need to smooth out because we are a team that needs to execute, especially in attack. It's something we've already talked about at length, but it shouldn't be forgotten: we don't have enough talent to go out of the game, and this is a lesson we need to keep in mind for the future. For today I am very happy with the first thirty minutes of quality, an excellent prologue towards next Saturday's championship debut.”
