Bertram Derthona: the second season of Serie A begins
Bertram Derthona's second Serie A season officially began yesterday with a toast to kick off the season . A packed house welcomed the Lions to their first official outing in the heart of the city at the Fermento Cafè . The team is now preparing to depart for the Livigno training camp (August 20-30), where the first training sessions open to the public will take place . Assistant coach Vanni Talpo , currently playing with the Under 16 men's national team at the European Championships currently underway in Macedonia, will join the rest of the team. These days of training will conclude with the first friendly match, scheduled for Tuesday, August 30 , at 18 p.m. in Sondrio against SAM Massagno , a team playing in the Swiss Basketball League.
Back in Tortona, the team will continue training for their official matches. The second scrimmage will be on Sunday, September 4th in Scandiano (Reggio Emilia) against UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia , coached by Max Menetti, while on Wednesday, September 7th, the Leoni will play at the PalaRavizza in Pavia in the 'Memorial Di Bella' against Urania Milano (tip-off at 8:00 p.m.). The week then concludes with an interesting match against Germani Brescia ( Saturday, September 10th at the PalaLeonessa A2A), valid for the sixth edition of the 'Trofeo Roberto Ferrari'.
The next preseason event will be the prestigious 'Trofeo Carlo Lovari' at the PalaTagliate in Lucca on September 16th and 17th . In the semifinals, Bertram will face Virtus Segafredo Bologna at 8:45 pm. Adding to the prestige of this event are the other two participants: Germani Brescia and Umana Reyer Venezia.
The final preseason match for coach Ramondino's team is scheduled for Wednesday, September 21st at the PalaEnergica Paolo Ferraris against Vanoli Cremona . The following week will see the first official match of the season, the 2022 LBA Super Cup : the Leoni will face Dinamo Sassari on Wednesday, September 28th at 6:00 PM at the PalaLeonessa A2A in Brescia. The match is valid for the tournament semifinal.
This weekend, it will be time for Serie A 2022/23: Dolomiti Energia Trentino will challenge the Bianconeri on the first matchday (Sunday 2 October) at the PalaEnergica Paolo Ferraris.
