Welcome Preston Knowles: he is the second USA
Bertram Derthona communicates the engagement of Preston Knowles, the Club's second foreign player in the 2018/19 season. Guard di 185 cm, class 1989, the new Leone is in his second Italian experience after playing in Serie A with the Pistoia shirt in 2015/16.
Originally from Winchester, Kentucky, Knowles played for four seasons (133 games) for the Louisville Cardinals, reaching the prestigious goal of Elite Eight – the quarterfinals – at the tournament NCAA in 2007/2008 and 2008/2009.
After graduating in communications, the new Lion began his professional career in Ukraine, with the de shirt Dnipro Azot Dniprodzerzhynsk, returning to the United States with the Springfield Armor (D League) in January. In 2012 he returns to Europe with the shirt of Kao Dramas (Greece), reaching the semi-final of the Greek Cup, and then moving toIroni Nes Ziona (Israel), and land in Pistoia (11.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists) in 2015/16.
In 2016 he divides his time between Al Rayyan Doha (Qatar), where he plays the national championship and Asia Champions Cup, Aek Larnaca (Cyprus), and Maccabi Ashdod (Israel), where the season ends; last year he played with the shirt of Zadar (Croatia), the same club from which Glenn Cosey arrived at Derthona, dividing his time between the national championship (10.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists) and the Adriatic League (14.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists).
