BCC is heading towards a date with history: Coach Cutugno's statements and the curiosities of the match on the eve of the Coppa Italia Final Four
Just over 24 hours to a new, prestigious, appointment with history for Autosped BCC Derthona, who will debut at the Coppa Italia Final Four at 18 pm tomorrow against the Italian champions Umana Reyer Venezia.
The match between these two teams will inaugurate the women's side of the Turin event, hosted by the wonderful setting of the Inalpi Arena. Umana Reyer Venezia returns to the historic moments experienced in this first season in Serie A1 by the Giraffe: the orogranata were also the opponents of BCC in the Opening Day in Genoa at the end of September. Four and a half months later, the two teams - together with Sassari the only ones to boast both teams (men's and women's) in the top division - meet again in a match that puts the Coppa Italia final at stake. This is the first confrontation in a knockout match in history between Autosped BCC Derthona and Umana Reyer Venezia.
The team coached by Cutugno arrives at this historic event strong from the victory against Dinamo Sassari before the international break, while Umana Reyer, for its part, has suffered only one defeat up to now on Italian soil, against Campobasso on the last day of the first half of the regular season.
As usual, the one to introduce the debut at the Final Four that awaits BCC was coach Orazio Cutugno: "With great commitment and passion, overcoming even the moments of difficulty, we have earned the chance to play this match. Now, knowing the value of Venice, we will try to put physicality and concentration on the field, and to play with enthusiasm and energy, experiencing the satisfaction of competing for the first time in our history in a great event like the Final Four of the Italian Cup".
CURIOSITIES AND EX OF THE RACE – Having made its debut in the A1 Italian Cup Final Four for Autosped BCC Derthona, Reyer Venezia won the only Italian Cup in its history in 2008.
Beatrice Attura, who played in Venice from 2020 to 2022, is one of the many exes of the match: together with her Caterina Dotto (in the Lagoon from 2015 to 2018), Sofia Marangoni (in Venice from 2012 to 2014), Francesca Leonardi (from 2017 to 2021), Francesca Melchiori (currently injured, who played in Reyer from 2012 to 2017) and Elisa Penna (from 2012 to 2015 and from 2019 to 2022).
At the Inalpi Arena in Turin there is a stand for Derthona Basket and Cittadella dello Sport, where you can buy company clothing, including the exclusive t-shirt created for the occasion, and get information on the summer camp that will be held, for the third consecutive year, in collaboration with Costa Crociere.
