Allianz alongside Derthona Basket to develop the youth sector
Allianz becomes a partner of Derthona Basket of Tortona, the "Lions" team of basketball, protagonist of a great rise in recent years and a meeting place for many young athletes of all ages, with the aim of continuing the development of the youth sector, key asset of the Tortona company.
The insurance company, led by the CEO Giacomo Campora, by virtue of the sponsorship will be alongside Derthona Basket for five years from the 2023/2024 to 2027/2028 sports season, as "Title Sponsor" of all the youth teams and “Platinum Sponsor” for the men's and women's teams, thus renewing its desire to promote sport as a promoter of the values of integration and valorisation of the potential of everyone, and in particular of young people, thanks to talent, fairness, ethics and commitment.

The characteristics of the partnership

- Allianz alongside the "Leoni" of Tortona for five sporting seasons starting from 2023/24
Allianz will give its name to the entire youth sector, which is very active in training the male and female athletes of tomorrow, and the Allianz logo will be present on the uniform and on the official competition overshirt for five years starting from the 2023/24 sports season.
The partnership, however, will not only concern young people: Allianz will also support the first men's and women's teams, with its logo on the official uniforms. Furthermore, the logo will be visible both at the PalaEnergica in Casale Monferrato and at the Cittadella dello Sport during the Championship and European Cup matches.
Derthona Basketball – Founded in 1955, Derthona Basket has experienced a great rise in recent years. Starting from 2009, the year of the unbeaten victory in Serie C2, the Club achieved promotions to B, A2 and Serie A on the pitch, also winning the LNP Italian Cup in 2018 and the LNP Old Wild West Super Cup in 2019. Since 2017 , the Gavio Group is the Main Sponsor with the Bertram Yachts brand, and since 2021 the controlling shareholder of the sports club. In the two years in Serie A, Derthona Basket reached the Italian Cup final in 2022 and two Scudetto semi-finals.
Starting from 2021, the partnership with BC Castelnuovo Scrivia, another company in the orbit of the Gavio Group, has been developed and strengthened, developed first through the creation of joint initiatives and then with the increasingly centralized organizational management of the two Clubs. BC Castelnuovo Scrivia has participated in the Serie A2015 Women's championship since 2 and in 2023 won the Italian Cup, the first trophy in its history.
The youth and mini-basketball sectors of the two clubs have a total of over 300 members between boys and girls, to whom the aim is to provide the best training and technical offer possible. In recent years, the youth sectors of Derthona Basket and BC Castelnuovo Scrivia have reached numerous national finals, obtaining prestigious results.
At the same time, the two Clubs carry out a series of activities for their members and the community, including summer camps and promotional activities in schools, with the aim of expanding the catchment area, both of members of the youth sector and mini-basketball, in terms of participation of young and very young people in the area at home games.
