Aldo Caenazzo is the winner of the #LNPCoachChallenge

The voting for the #CoachLNPChallenge, a contest created and promoted by the National Basketball League aimed at electing the Legend Coach of each of the Clubs that joined the initiative, ended today morning, Thursday 11 June.

The final act of the tournament pitted Demis Cavina (who beat Massimo Falcin and Giovanni Noli in the two previous rounds) and Aldo Caenazzo (who won first over Lorenzo Pansa and then over Mario Armana).

The protagonists of this final act were also the Juventus fans, who expressed their preferences on the club's official communication channels during all 24 hours available for voting. Hundreds of votes were collected during the final, which were rewarded Aldo Caenazzo, capable of imposing itself with 61% of the total preferences.

Aldo Caenazzo was first a player and then coach of Derthona Basket: after obtaining the ISEF Diploma in Milan in 1969, he obtained - in the same year - the Coach Card and the Minibasket Instructor Card. From 1972 to 1978 he was coach of the Juventus youth team, before being the coach of the first team in the following seven seasons. The ride of the 1983-84 season was unforgettable, with a team made up - among others - of Enrico Marina, Gianni Cermelli, Nereo Maghet, Marco Ghisolfi, which culminated with promotion to Serie C1.

He then returned to coach Derthona Basket at the beginning of the nineties, achieving promotion from Serie D to Serie C in 1991-92 with the team formed, among others, by Roberto Tava, Paolo De Ros, Francesco Barabino and Andrea Moncalvi. From 2001 to 2015 he was then coach of the Club's youth sector teams.

Caenazzo has remained in the memory of Derthona fans because, in almost forty years, he contributed to the growth of the first team and the youth sector of the Club. Aldo is also remembered with pleasure for having been a Professor of Physical Education in institutes of various types and degree of the city of Tortona.

The affection of the fans and the victory achieved in the #SfidaCoachLNP scoreboard will lead him to represent Bertram Yachts Derthona in the national phase of the contest, managed directly by LNP, which will start in the next few days. All information relating to the opponent, date and time of the match in the second round of the tournament involving Aldo Caenazzo will be provided on the Club's communication channels.
